March 2, 2011 – Voting opened yesterday for the Readers’ Choice Award for the 23rd annual Minnesota Book Awards. Each year the voting process changes a bit (it seems you just can’t keep up with technology) and this year is no exception. After you’ve voted, please take a minute to let us know your thoughts about the interface and experience. We really want to make it easy to participate in choosing the winner of this popular award.
Meet many of the finalists for the 23rd Annual Minnesota Book Awards and get acquainted with their work at the Readers’ Choice event at Open Book Literary Arts Center, 1011 Washington Avenue So., Minneapolis.
Join us after the program to chat with the authors and enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres, wine and refreshments. Finalist books will be available for purchase and autographing.
Location: Target Performance Hall. Admission: Free
Designed as an opportunity for the finalist authors to make the case for why they should get your vote for the Readers’ Choice Award, the event is cosponsored by The Friends of the Saint Paul Library, The Loft Literary Center and the Pioneer Press. Voting for the Readers’ Choice Award continues through March at TwinCities.com.
Starting March 15, we’ll begin counting down the days to the 23rd Annual Minnesota Book Awards by randomly selecting one of the finalist books each day to highlight. We’ll include quotes from the authors, a synopsis, quick takes from MNBA judges, excerpts of reviews by others in the literary world, and book trailers when available. It’ll be a veritable multimedia extravaganza! But don’t look only for 32 Books in 32 Days. Before and after the countdown we’ll use this forum to shine a light on previous MNBA winners and finalists who are still writing and working, showing the world the rich literary legacy we are privileged to share in Minnesota.
